Saturday, May 31, 2008

26 - 29 May 2008 - The St John Ambulance of St Michael's Institution, Ipoh organized a 4 days 3 nights NCO Camp from 26th to 29th May 2008. It was held in the school compound of this school. The camp was an annual tradition and it turned up successfully this year (except for more trouble from the EXCOs). Around 20 members attended the camp and they were divided into 4 groups, namely Bahamut, Zeus, Phoenix and Shiva. The campers were highly spirited and most of them hold on till the last minute. The organizing commitee was headed by the camp chief, A/SGT Wong Joe Hang. The main purpose of this camp is to foster a healthy relationship between members, to promote a high level of discipline and mannerism among members, to increase the standard of first aid knowledge, marching skills and to make members more independent and respectful towards others. The camp was also attended by a headquarters officer, Mr Ng Meng Kong. He injected more first aid knowledge and corrected the mistakes of the members. I would like to thank Mr Andrew Sean Lim, our former storekeeper for SMI St John, who guided us and gave us ample of advices. Thank You!

  1. Great to see the tradition of SJAM SMI Division still going strong. The NCO Camp is one of the core activities in St John Ambulance. I hope the NCOs still maintain the level of discipline throughout the camp. Keep up the good work, guyz!
