Conversation and Consolation

27 May 2009 - The comments by my Sejarah teacher, Pn. Shaw Wanni...

SW: Ivan, come here.. (distributing Sejarah paper 2)
SW: Class, did the sejarah paper asking you who is your Sejarah teacher?
SW: Ivan.....Ivan...
SW: As far as I know, you have been a very good boy when I taught you in form 3. But I have to tell you honestly, from the first day in my class this year, you have been talking non-stop.. You mixed around with the wrong people..(looking at Jashen). You tell me that you deserved to get that mark for your paper 1 or not?
ME: Yes.......
SW: You are a very smart boy, and in fact, you are very handsome too...
SW: I mean he is presentable right? At least he is better than some of you here. Ivan, I have to tell you seriously, you will be going downwards right after you finish you SPM. Do you know that you are digging your own grave?
SW: And now you are doing things like this. 32/40 marks is very good, but you are soooo kind-hearted and that makes you get the marks you deserved.. And you did the same thing on your paper 2, writing my name, so is it fair if i deduct 10 marks from your paper?
ME: Yes.....
SW: You show that to your mother and if she is not satisfied, ask her to come and talk to me..

Zero Lesson

26 May 2009 - So many things has been happening lately. The piles up troubles were enough to make me headache. However, the problems aren't just problems when you did not realise your mistake and what you are doing. For the first time ever, I get a big 0 for my Sejarah paper 1. The excuse given by teacher was I am the main supplier for answers to the people surrounding me. It's undeniable because the person sitting behind and beside me were getting the same marks with me. Geez! I was totally speechless that time. DAMN

The second part is, I realised that I have changed a lot since form 1. The change towards a more bad and more uncomfortable ME. Maybe it was the friends that I mix around with that influences me. But there is one thing for sure, I strongly believe that the friends around you makes your character. To make things simpler, what your friends do and what friends you are mixing with are what you are. A change of character can be good or vice versa. I feel like going back time and look at what I've behaved throughout my schooling life.

Busy Weeks

Saturday, May 23, 2009
23 May 2009 - A very busy and tiring 2 weeks for me. Although the exam has yet to finish, with the remaining one day, but i feel like screaming my heart out. I have been revising and studying for the past two weeks, which I have never done it before. WHY? Well, it's the final preparation before I face the SPM trials.
From what I can say about myself is:
1) A day before exam study is extremely insufficient time.
2) Too late and too rush for the not too prepared examinations.
3) Realised that by doing exercises is more effective than reading without aim.

I expect all my papers to pass but if we are talking about A1s, then I'm afraid that I will be disappointed. Ivan Tan, study smart la next time, don't regret later...

Voice Out to Laugh Out

Saturday, May 9, 2009
9 May 2009 - I have came across a blog post of my friend which i think it was 80% true facts and 20% laughing factor in it. I can't stop laughing when i read the post. The post was posted by my buddy, the 'great Donivald Tham'. Enjoy the blog post below:

Nut Heads
I've always hated the counselors in my school. They kept organizing speeches and motivational talks that is a total wastage of time and crap. Maybe they are too free cause no one's asking them for counseling. They kept talking bout how great they are and how much power they have. They said that they can write bad remarks on our certs and we'll have trouble getting into university therefore we'll regret and come back to ask them to change their remarks. They even said that everyday 2-3 parents meet them to beg them to change their remarks. Total CRAP. I hate how they exaggerate too much bout their power and stuff. They are plain stupid and useless if you ask me. Everyday you see them threatening students that they will call their parents and blacklist them. Get a life idiots =.= Really, I'm so pissed off by them today. They dare to call themselves counselors when all they do is make life miserable for us students? Go to hell. Especially the thick face counselor and boobs-woman counselor. Grrrr.. Hope someone puncture their tires later.

Hope you enjoy reading it =D

The Climb and The Fall

Friday, May 8, 2009
8 May 2009 - Mid-year examination will be next week, and that will be the final examination for me in my 5-year schooling term. The final battle, before going for trials and finally, the (not-so) much awaited SPM. My preparation? I think it will be 60%. I have not fully focusing on my form 4 and most of the teachers in form 4 are too 'good' that I don't even understand what were they teaching so far. I think I will have to buck up on my form 4 syllabus.

507 Perak State Assembly?
Just stop the drama and get to work! If they are really working and serving the Rakyat, then they should be concentrating on the peace and harmonious life in Perak, not creating troubles and bring more chaos in it. When are you guys going to wake up?

Arghh, EXAM EXAM EXAM!!!!

Uncertainties

Sunday, April 26, 2009

26 April 2009 - I participated in the First Aid Quiz organized by St John Ambulance headquarters today. Nothing special at all, we managed to kick out AMC in the first match and thus enable us to qualified to the finals with 2 other teams - Anderson and Ayer Tawar. Anderson get Silver whereas Ayer Tawar grabbed the Gold. Zero trophies for us. 'Us' = Wong Yoong Xiang, Fong Teik Sum, Eric Ewe Yow Choong, Wong Joe Hang & Me. By the way, congrats to cadet team who get Bronze.

Yesterday I saw the horoscope reading in my friendster. It says that I should not start any relationship if Im not reading, Im just wasting my time. Then today = With all the uncertainty in your life now, you need to seek the comfort of home. Maybe Im not clear what Im doing right now. Sorry for disturbing! I will try to be more rational and stop the childish thing in me.

Seriously, I hate those fella who always emotional (EMO) and talk bout the world's going to end or something like that. Sometimes I feel like Im quite near to that situation. I hate that part in me, that why Im changing now, I don't like the me who was in primary school. I want to be me right now.

SPM. My mom keep on bugging me to study hard. June holidays is coming, Two 4 days 3 nights camp in 2 weeks time. I have to stop all my St John activities.... SPM SPM SPM!? Go to hell!

LOST!!!

Saturday, April 18, 2009

18 April 2008 - On the way to school, still sms-ing Joe Hang. Arrive school, realised my phone missing. Call my dad who fetched me there immediately. My mom at home answered it. I called my phone again. No reponse. 1 hour later - confirmed lost!

Its Accomplished!

18 April 2009 - Today was the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for St John Ambulance of my school. Reached school super-early to prepare for my last meeting as an EXCO. Luckily the slide show for AGM can be viewed in the lecture theatre. The AGM officially started at 9.00am. Each and every EXCOs give out their respective reports and review for the term 2008/2009. I was waiting for this moments to come, to handover to the new board. 5 years is how long I have became a St John member, and this is the time! I believe that the new EXCO board can do a better job to improve the division, a greater teamwork in managing the members. Nothing much, view the photos below for a full review.

3 For Hardwork, Cooperation and Sacrifice

Thursday, April 9, 2009
9 April 2009 - The last Annual Sports Day for me. Our class, 5sc4 have been training hard for this sports day event which ended at 1.00pm today. 5sc4 was lead by the class monitor, Lee Kar Heng and followed by the cooperative students in it. Our class was rewarded for our hardwork with a 3rd place for this inter-class marching among the form fives.
Overall, we were not aiming for 1st place as there were other classes which better than us. Special thanks to my following friends who ensure 5sc4 a 3rd placing:

Lee Kar Heng - The self-sacrificing, best monitor among the classes. He lead the class with his superb voice in shouting commands, organize the students and patience in bringing up the name of 5sc4. The only form 5 class who have the banners 'WE SEE' and 'WE CONQUER' thanks to him.
Karavin - Although he seems to be playful sometimes, but he showed his class spirit when he offer himself to buy the black GIORDANO™ tee shirt for all the students as our class shirt.
Beh Peng Cheng & Vincent Tang - Thanks for the wonderful yet amazing formation. Both of them contributed in designing and organizing our class formation.
Chow Swee Kwan - The one and only who design and paint our class flag. Designed by, painted by and edited by him.
Last but not least, ALL 5sc4 students who came for this glorious and meaningful Sports Day. Thank you.

So Close Yet So Far

Sunday, April 5, 2009
5 April 2009 - The 53rd State-level Annual First Aid and Home Nursing Competition ended today, leaving its glory and memories for the year 2009. My school, SMK St Michael, Ipoh sent two teams, the Ambulance Cadet and Ambulance Adult for this competition. The two teams were as below: Ambulance Adult, A/A 5 :-
1) Wong Joe Hang
2) Wong Yoong Xiang
3) Kisor A/L Thaiala Rao
4) Fong Teik Sum
5) Cham Swee Wen

Ambulance Cadet, A/C 12 :-
1) Donivald Tham Kam Loy
2) Yoong Lip Zhang
3) Teoh Jia Heng
4) Lim Boon Kong
5) Justin Lui Tet Yoon

The performance of the adult team was good and surprising. I myself who recorded their footdrill session was stunned by their amazing performance. Unfortunately, other teams in and around Perak were better and thus, zero trophies for their footdrill. The adult team's short case and long case was satisfactory. Seriously, their performance is way better than area-level competition. From what I observed, they have the confidence to win and at last, bronze for both their short and long cases.
Cadet team was not so disappointing after all. Their leader, Donivald Tham raise the impression of their team with his voice in their footdrill session. A stunning Silver was awarded for their footdrill and uniform checking. Short case was quite good, coordination and teamwork surpass most of the teams. Long case, hmm... it was funny. There was a casualty lying unconsciously, they found the medication, they put the medication inside the casualty mouth. Ahem, is this competition or real case situation? I doubt myself.
The overall result for my school is as below:
A/A 5 :-
Short Case - Bronze
Long Case - Bronze
Highest Individual - Fong Teik Sum - Bronze
Highest Individual - Cham Swee Wen - Silver

A/C 12 :-
Footdrill and Uniform Checking - Silver
Short Case - Bronze
Long Case - Bronze
Highest Individual - Donivald Tham Kam Loy - Silver

Since there will be only 1 team selected to enter the national-level competition in KL, both Adult and Cadet Teams did not make it. It was not because they are weak or unable to perform well, but mainly due to the more-experience teams who were slightly better than them. Congratulations and well done from the bottom of my heart. So guys, you have tried your best, you have made your alma mater proud, shout it out and loud
